Broughty Ferry Gala Week has been a regular event since the early 1900’s and is now regarded as the
foremost summer community festival in Tayside. Many of the events are free of charge and sponsored
by a Broughty Ferry business. Monies raised during Gala Week are donated to local charities and
organisations such as The RNLI, Age Concern, St. Andrews Ambulance, the Senior Citizens Club and
the Scouts. Additionally funds are used to support the Broughty Ferry Christmas Street Party. The
festive street lights are purchased by The Broughty Ferry Traders’ Association, with installation by
Dundee City Council, and gifted to the people of Broughty Ferry and Dundee.
